Performance Analysis of RIS Aided Wireless-Powered System for WBAN
Traditional wireless body area networks (WBAN) suffer from resource limitation problems, and the performance can be significantly affected by the channel. In this paper, we provide a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) aided wireless-powered system for WBAN, which combines wireless energy transmission (WET) and wireless information transmission (WIT). This paper provides a precise theoretical analysis of the RIS-aided wireless-powered system over the Gamma distribution and log-normal distribution channels. In addition, moment matching is used to derive the outage probability and average age expressions of information. the effects of the distance between nodes and the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) the transmitter on the system performance is analyzed. The theoretical analysis and simulation results show that RIS assists to improve the energy harvesting performance and enhance the signal strength and transmission efficiency.
