An Annual Maintenance Scheduling Model for Multiple-type Units Based on Cluster Unit Combinations

With the advancement of renewable energy, the formulation of effective maintenance plans for generator sets has become increasingly important for the normal operation of power systems. Historically, maintenance models have typically focused on a single type of unit, while the scale of binary variables and constraint conditions has increased significantly, presenting substantial challenges for solving these optimization issues. This paper integrates the maintenance model with annual production simulations of the power system, proposing a multi-type unit maintenance scheduling model with a minimum time resolution of one hour. The maintenance unit types considered include thermal generator (TG), annual adjustment hydro units, and pumped storage (PS). Furthermore, to tackle the complexity and efficiency issues, this paper introduces clustered unit combinations (CUC) to transform binary variables in basic unit combinations (BUC) into continuous variables. Finally, based on the simulation study of modified IEEE RTS-79 system, validation of models and methods is assured.
