A Two-stage Optimal Bidding and Dispatch Strategy for Integrated Energy Producers Considering Uncertainties in Electricity Spot Market
As the development of China's electricity spot market accelerates, the participation of renewable energy sources (RES) in the spot market has become an emerging trend. Thus, integrated electricity producers, encompassing thermal power, RES and energy storage systems (ESS), can achieve maximum profit through strategic regulation. Based on the early stage of China's electricity spot market, where the dual-settlement mechanism and deviation assessments co-exist, this study evaluates the bidding revenue in the day-ahead market and the arbitrage opportunities in the real-time market. Considering multiple uncertainties of RES power and market prices, a two-stage optimal bidding and dispatch strategy for integrated energy producers is established, where the day-ahead market bidding strategy and the real-time market rolling self-scheduling strategy are considered. The proposed model optimizes the dispatch schedules of thermal units, maintenance plans for RES units, and bidding strategies in the market, to maximize electricity producers' profitability. A case study based on real data from a certain region in East China is provided, and the numerical results validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
