Optimal Dispatch of Hydropower Plants Considering the Vibration Zone of the Unit and Price-Guided Pumped Storage Hydropower Plants

With the rapid development of renewable energy and large load fluctuations, the intraday net load curve fluctuates sharply, which brings a heavy burden to power dispatching. As flexible resources that can be adjusted quickly, hydropower plants and pumped storage hydropower plants (PSH) have great advantages in regulating the peak-valley difference and reducing the climbing demand of traditional thermal power units. However, due to the existence of the vibration zone of the hydropower unit, the stable generating interval is discontinuous, and the pumped storage unit is difficult to model to adapt to various practical conditions due to too many restrictions on actual operation. Therefore, this paper studies the method of continuous power regulation formed by the combination of hydropower unit groups from the actual situation, and carries out a detailed modeling of the PSH. Finally, a case study is carried out to prove the effectiveness of the proposed model and improve the system's absorption ability.
