Annual Time-Series Operation Simulation and Rapid Solution Method for Power Systems
As the proportion of renewable energy increases in the new-type power system, the significance of conducting annual time-series operational simulations for renewable energy gradually emerges. The existing panoramic time-series operational simulations for power systems fail to achieve supply-demand balance over a long time scale, and the solution methods cannot balance both speed and accuracy. To address these issues, we first established an annual time-series-coupled unit commitment (UC) model to conduct hourly operational simulations for all 8760 hours of the year. Subsequently, we selected the optimal number of clusters for the time series in the model on a monthly basis, conducted clustering based on these selections, and reconstructed the time series to reduce its dimensionality. By solving the simplified time series, we achieved rapid solution of the model. Finally, we compared the proposed method with some existing methods, demonstrating that our method maintains high accuracy while greatly improving the solving speed.
