Virtual synchronous generator control strategy for railway power conditioner with integrated renewable energy

The electrified railway flexible traction power supply system integrating renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic and energy storage can give full play to the advantages of multiple energy complementarities, improve the absorption rate of renewable energy, reduce fossil energy pollution, reduce the power supply burden of the railway traction power grid, and further reduce the three-phase imbalance of the traction power grid, and improve the power quality. However, in the case of a weak power grid, if the railway power conditioner (RPC) still adopts the traditional grid-following control strategy, the system will inevitably be unstable due to the loss of the phase-locked loop. Due to the complexity of parameter design and the limitations of application scenarios, the traditional phase-locked loop improvement scheme cannot significantly improve the phase-locked effect. To improve the stability of railway power conditioner under weak grid conditions, a railway power conditioner control strategy based on Virtual Synchronous Generator (VSG) was proposed. To test the effectiveness of the management strategy, a simulation model was built in Matlab/Simulink. The simulation results show that the proposed control strategy has a better compensation for the effects of power and voltage control.
