Power Grid Resilience Assessment based on Network Centrality
In recent years, natural disasters have triggered widespread blackouts globally. To expedite the recovery of power systems, this paper introduces a comprehensive metric for assessing grid resilience. It integrates centrality measures from complex network analysis with the operational characteristics of power systems. By applying the centrality metric, which determines the importance of nodes and edges based on their roles in network information flow, we evaluate the system's resilience to critical edge failures. This method highlights key components essential for energy distribution. Through simulation experiments, we construct resilience metrics and use a universal test platform to model the impact of removing critical lines on network efficiency. The results indicate that the network's criticality, as defined by the recalculated centrality measures, is often concentrated on a few key lines. This insight is crucial for the swift maintenance and repair of power systems following significant natural disasters.
