Optimization Scheduling of Wind-Photovoltaic-Pumped Hydro Storage Considering the Revenue from Pumped Hydro Storage under Different Electricity Market Mechanisms
Pumped hydro storage (PHS) is an important part of the renewable power system. PHS can be used as an independent energy storage to participate in the power market while forming a combined power generation system with wind and photovoltaic(PV). This paper proposes an optimal scheduling method for the coordinated operation of wind power, photovoltaic power and PHS, considering PHS power stations as independent energy storage power stations to participate in the operation of the electricity market. Based on the day-ahead 15-minute electricity trading market, the revenue models of PHS participating in the current electricity market and the future multi-level electricity market are constructed with the goal of maximizing the revenue of PHS power station, and the operation strategy is optimized. A PHS power station in Fujian Province is used to cooperate with the scenery resources in the region for case analysis, while the revenue of PHS power station is compared. In the computational findings presented in this study, the optimization method proposed in this paper can reduce the renewable energy curtailment by 85.01% when participating in the main and auxiliary markets at meantimes. Finally, the sensitivity analysis of load characteristics is carried out to study the impact of the two on revenue.
