Transient stability control method of virtual synchronous inverter based on minimum stable boundary estimation
When a serious fault occurs in the power grid, it can lead to transient instability of the inverter, potentially resulting in system collapse. Traditional energy function methods that incorporate damping coefficients may yield stability misjudgments during transient stability analysis. To address this issue, this paper proposes a transient stability control method for virtual synchronous inverters based on minimum stable boundary estimation. A transient energy function that accounts for damping power is developed using the swing equation of synchronous generators. Additionally, a transient voltage stability control method is introduced, which relies on the minimum stability boundary estimation derived from the improved transient energy function. Finally, a model is constructed in Matlab/Simulink to validate the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed control method. Simulation results demonstrate that the transient stability control strategy based on the enhanced energy function can effectively estimate post-failure transient energy of the inverter and achieve effective stabilization of its operation.
