Energy Storage Capacity and Line Configuration Based on Operation Economy
To address the challenges of enhancing system reliability and reducing operational costs through energy storage, a two-phase energy storage optimization configuration method is proposed. This method comprehensively considers the reliability and operational economy of the distribution network. Firstly, the planning focuses on a single-point access model for the energy storage system (ESS), establishing a dual-layer multi-objective planning operation model. The upper layer aims to minimize the sum of energy storage investment costs, system outage penalty costs, and overall operational costs. In contrast, the lower layer seeks to minimize the sum of comprehensive operational costs, including network losses, power quality, and load fluctuation operational costs, to devise an energy storage planning and operation scheme. Then, the method examines a multi-point access model for ESS following the addition of new power supply cables, with the optimization goal of maximizing reliability improvement benefits, resulting in a new cable planning scheme. Finally, employing a modified IEEE 33-node system as a case study, the effectiveness of the proposed method is validated across different scenarios.
