A Fast Power Distribution Strategy for Overspeed Deloading Control of Wind Farm
Overspeed deloading control (ODC) is an important technical approach for wind farm (WF) to participate in system frequency regulation. Due to the stochastic variation of wind resources over time, ODC needs to adjust rapidly in response to real-time wind speeds. Optimization-based methods can enhance ODC control, achieving optimal control effects. To allocate the power command of each wind turbine generator (WTG) within a WF efficiently, a complex non-convex optimization problem that maximizes the stored rotor kinetic energy needs to be solved. However, slow solution speed limits the application of this technology. This paper proposes a fast power distribution strategy for ODC of WF. First, the complex non-convex optimization problem is converted into a quadratic programming (QP) through linear approximation. Then, the distribution characteristic of the QP’s optimal solution is analyzed and proven. Based on the characteristic, the optimal solution is adjusted to eliminate the error introduced by the linear approximation in the power equality constraint. Finally, a WF model comprising thirty doubly fed induction generators (DFIGs) is established. Simulation results validate the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed strategy.
