Measurement and Analysis Model Study of Harmonic Losses in Converter Transformers
The losses of converter transformers are relatively high, which have a significant impact on the stability and economic operation of the equipment. Currently, the losses measured by different methods vary greatly. It is necessary to conduct relevant research on the losses of converter transformers in order to provide a basis for the design and manufacturing of converter transformers. During the factory test of the converter transformer, it is necessary to measure the load loss. At present, the measurement methods for harmonic losses mainly rely on the calculation methods recommended by IEC 61378-2 and GB/T 18494.2 for estimation, which makes it difficult to obtain accurate frequency characteristics of harmonic losses in converter transformers. Research on measuring harmonic losses in converter transformers at near rated harmonic currents has not been carried out yet. Based on this research, a method for measuring harmonic losses in converter transformers using highpower harmonic power sources is proposed. The improvement of the design, manufacturing, and operation maintenance of converter transformers is of great significance.
