Reviews on the Capacity Market Bidding Strategy of Virtual Power Plants with Electric Vehicles
In the context of building a new power system, incentivizing electric vehicles to participate in the capacity market not only helps to fully leverage their capacity value, but also ensures the long-term reliable operation of the power system. In recent years, with the rapid increase in the number of electric vehicles and the gradual maturity of V2G technology, electric vehicles, as a special mobile energy storage system, have received increasing attention for their ability to provide auxiliary services such as frequency regulation and peak shaving for the power grid. However, in the existing electricity market mechanism, the capacity value and physical characteristics of EV resources have not been fully reflected, resulting in insufficient long-term profitability. In view of this, this article conducts research and analysis on the current development status and profitability of virtual power plants considering electric vehicles at home and abroad, and introduces the importance of virtual power plants considering electric vehicles entering the capacity market. On this basis, the challenges faced by China in considering virtual power plants for electric vehicles and the construction route of China's capacity market were discussed.
