Active and Reactive Power Coordination Optimization under High Photovoltaic Penetration for Distribution Station Areas
As energy reform progresses, the number of distributed generation units, energy storage systems, and other elements within distribution station areas continues to increase, transforming them from passive systems into active systems. This paper proposes a coordination optimization strategy for energy storage and reactive power compensation devices in distribution station areas, utilizing the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. The constraints and safe operating boundaries of various elements within the distribution station area are analyzed. The problem of maximizing the renewable energy absorption capacity is converted into minimizing renewable energy overflow power. A coordination optimization model is established with the objectives of minimizing the total network loss and the total renewable energy overflow over the course of a day. Case studies confirm that this strategy reduces both network losses and renewable energy overflow, ensuring the safe and stable operation of the distribution station area.
