Optimal Design of an Integrated Energy System by Genetic Algorithm
With the increase of global energy demand and the aggravation of environmental problems, the limitations of traditional energy in remote regions and isolated regions are becoming more and more obvious. These regions often face the challenges related to energy shortage and unstable supply, and single energy systems are difficult to meet their economic and reliability needs. Therefore, the development of hybrid renewable energy systems (HRES) that combine multiple energy sources has become an effective way to solve these problems. In this study, we simultaneously consider the indicators of economy, environmental protection and reliability. The multi-objective optimization design and simulation of an off-grid wind-solar-diesel-storage hybrid renewable energy system in an island region are carried out using a genetic algorithm. To verify the validity of the constructed model, we use the power supply demand of a strategic island as an example. Energy management decision-making schemes with different emphases are obtained using the constructed renewable energy planning system to assist in the optimization of equipment combinations. In order to visualize the model constructed in this study and facilitate the operation in engineering applications, we developed a hybrid renewable energy management software platform based on the energy planning model, which has important theoretical reference significance and engineering practical value for the construction and deployment of energy systems.
