Modeling and Low Frequency Oscillation Analysis of PMSG-based Wind Turbine Controlled by Virtual Synchronous Generator
At present, the penetration of new energy represented by wind power has increased significantly and virtual synchronous generator (VSG) has been widely concerned because it can simulate the rotor motion equation to overcome the disadvantages of low inertia and weak damping caused by the grid connection of distributed energy. However, the low frequency oscillation threatens the safe and stable operation of PMSG-based (Permanent magnet synchronous generator) wind turbine controlled by VSG. To solve this problem, this paper takes the PMSG-based wind turbine system controlled by VSG as the research object, studies the interaction of different control links and their effects on the system dynamic characteristics and grid-connected stability. Based on the model, the eigenvalue of the system and their corresponding oscillation modes are solved and the key parameters affecting the oscillation modes are analyzed. Finally, the electromagnetic transient simulation model of PMSG-based wind farm controlled by VSG was built on MATLAB/Simulink platform to verify the accuracy of the analysis results.
