Research on the Operation Mode of Virtual Power Plants Participating in Day-ahead market
Under the background of the national dual carbon strategy and the construction of a new power system, the large- scale grid connection of new energy poses a huge challenge to the real-time balance of the power system due to its randomness and volatility. It is urgent to take multiple measures to fully tap into the system's regulation capabilities. The regulation capacity of coal-fired power generation on the power generation side has been significantly improved through deep adjustment and transformation, but it is still difficult to effectively alleviate the impact of significant fluctuations in new energy. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance the system regulation capacity from the load side to respond to the fluctuations in new energy and the demand for electricity balance. The development of new entities such as virtual power plants has become a hot topic. Unlike traditional market entities such as power generation, electricity users, and electricity sales companies, virtual power plants have strong flexibility and scalability, and also play multiple market roles such as power generation and consumption. They participate in system interaction in the form of aggregates, and it is urgent to conduct in-depth research and clarify the design of relevant market mechanisms to guide their participation in the market. This paper reviews the current situation of virtual power plants participation in domestic and international markets, constructs a system architecture for virtual power plant participation in electricity market, studies the trading mechanism of virtual power plants participation in day-ahead market, and provides a practical case of virtual power plants in Shanxi. Finally, relevant suggestions are given for key issues such as the participation mode of virtual power plants in the market.
