Ultrasonic Spectral Characteristics of the Interface Defects between the Conductor Insert and Tri-post Insulator of 550 kV GIL
This paper explores the ultrasonic transmission characteristics within the interface bonding region of epoxy resin and metal inserts in epoxy resin insulators. A specialized ultrasonic flaw detection platform was constructed specifically to analyze the epoxy resin/metal insert interface bonding region. To improve measurement accuracy, the probe structure was optimized, enhancing both the interfacial bonding and the ultrasonic signal transmission between the probe and the test area. The study examined the ultrasonic transmission properties across the metal inserts and the epoxy resin/metal interface regions, providing valuable insights into the effectiveness of interface bonding. The findings of this research contribute to the development of ultrasonic testing methods for evaluating the integrity of epoxy resin insulator bonding interfaces, offering a basis for further advancements in insulator reliability assessment and maintenance.
