Taxonomy and Ecology of Species of the Genus Potamotogen L. Growing in the Territory of Azerbaijan

The systematic composition of the genus PotamotogenL., widespread in the wetlands of Azerbaijan, is presented on the basis of the conducted studies and literary data. The genus is one of the important plants of the marsh vegetation of the flora of Azerbaijan. The species of this genus are the most widespread, highly specialized aquatic plants in the flora. 14 species are found in the rivers and lakes of the bregions of Azerbaijan. Three types of habitats of the species were identified. 8 of the 14 species belong to the boreal habitat type, 5 species - the Caucasian areal type, and 1 species - the European-Siberian type. Ecological groups of the species of the genus: 2 species - rheophytes, 7 species - hydrophytes and 5 species - hydatophytes.
