Multimodal Assessments of Cardiac Sarcoidosis With Right Ventricular Involvement

Cardiac sarcoidosis (CS) with right ventricular (RV) involvement may mimic arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (AC), and multimodal assessments are essential for differentiation and appropriate diagnosis.1 We report a case of CS with RV involvement fulfilling the conventional criteria for AC. Multimodal assessments, including temporal changes in RV contractility on transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) over 3 years, were helpful in the diagnosis.

Abstract

Cardiac sarcoidosis (CS) with right ventricular (RV) involvement may mimic arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (AC), and multimodal assessments are essential for differentiation and appropriate diagnosis.1 We report a case of CS with RV involvement fulfilling the conventional criteria for AC. Multimodal assessments, including temporal changes in RV contractility on transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) over 3 years, were helpful in the diagnosis.
