Factors affecting the stability of IZC orthodontic implants
Currently, IZC orthodontic implants are actively used in practice of orthodontists to perform distalization of the teeth of the upper jaw. The infrazygomatic crest (IZC) has a large number of advantages relative to other areas of installation, including inter-radicular, however, the success rate of implantation in this area is not 100 %. Our article presents the results of a review study of the scientific literature summarizing data on factors that favorably and negatively affect the stability of IZC orthodontic implants. The influence of such indicators as the patient’s gender, age, the angle of insertion, diameter, length of the orthodontic implant is described, and a clear relationship between the skeletal type and the stability of IZC orthodontic implants is shown. The results of the studied material are structured and presented in tables. This information will help an orthodontist and a dental surgeon in determining the installation location and predicting the stability of orthodontic implants, as well as improving the quality of orthodontic treatment carried out with their help.
