Citrus wastewaters increase soil nitrate and improve nutrient translocation in a copper contaminated soil-lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) system
• The effects of citrus wastewaters and copper were tested in a soil–plant system. • Citrus wastewaters increased soil nitrate and promoted root growth. • Nutrient translocations improved with citrus wastewaters under copper stress. • Dilution enhanced the positive effects of citrus wastewaters on plant growth.
