Ag/g‐C3N4 Nanocomposites as a Sustainable Catalyst for Thiazolidinone Synthesis via Ultrasound‐Assisted Method

ABSTRACT This study introduces a novel approach to improve the synthesis of thiazolidone derivatives using Ag/g‐C 3 N 4 nanocomposite as heterogenous catalyzed using ultrasonication. Thiazolidinones, known for their diverse pharmacological activities, have garnered significant interest, making their synthesis a widely discussed topic. The Ag/g‐C 3 N 4 nanocomposite enables the production of thiazolidinone derivatives under mild and environmentally friendly reaction conditions, demonstrating its effectiveness as a heterogeneous catalyst. Controlled ultrasound cavitation facilitates rapid mixing and improved mass transfer, enhancing the reaction efficiency. This leads to faster reaction times and higher yields. The developed protocol offers high selectivity, scalability, and environmental friendliness. Ag/g‐C 3 N 4 nanocomposite is a promising catalyst for environmentally friendly synthesis processes because it offers good stability and recyclability. Overall, this work sheds light on the synthetic process of derivatives of thiazolidones and emphasizes the potential of reactions catalyzed by nanocomposites with ultrasound assistance in organic synthesis.
