Imapct of SAQ training on motor fitness and skill performance of school level soccer players

To achieve the purpose of the study, thirty (N=30) subjects were selected from the Swami Shivanandha Higher Secondary School, Periyanaickenpalayam, Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu. The participants, aged 14 to 16 years, subjects were divided into two equal groups: Experimental Group-I, consisting of fifteen male subjects who were underwent basic conditioning workouts with SAQ training for 8 weeks (5 days per a week, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM), and Control Group-II, also consisting of fifteen male subjects who continued with their regular routines without additional training. The selected variables for the study were Motor fitness variables like Speed, measured using 50m dash and Agility, measured using 4X 10 Shuttle run and Skill performance variables like Dribbling and Passing, measured using mor-christian soccer test. After completing eight weeks of training, post-test data were collected, and both pre-test and post-test scores were analyzed using the dependent t-test to determine if there had been a significant. The level of confidence set at 0.05. The results revealed that the experimental group showed a significant improvement in speed, agility, balance, flexibility, dribbling, passing and shooting, attributed to the SAQ training program. However, no significant changes were observed in the control group for the selected variables.
