Efficacy of botanical powders against rice weevil, Sitophilus oryzae L. (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) infesting wheat
AbstractExperiments were carried out at two locations: Karnal in Haryana and Niphad in Maharashtra. The treatments included powders derived from neem (Azadirachta indica), vekhand (Acorus calamus), jangli imli (Phyllanthus niruri), and giloe (Tinospora cordifolia), along with their six combinations and an untreated control. Observations were made regarding weevil survival, seed weight loss, germination rates, and seed vigor. Results indicated that vekhand powder, both alone and in combinations with neem, jangli imli, and giloe, was the most effective in reducing weevil populations.
