Bioefficacy of plant protectants against M. vitrata (Geyer) infesting green gram

AbstractPresent study was carried out to evaluate the efficacy of different plant protectants against spotted pod borer on green gram. Results revealed that the reduction of number of larvae (4.32 larvae/m2) and increasing grain yield (13.01 q/ha) and yield over control (35.69%), azadirachtin (0.03%) was the most effective plant protectant subsequent to neem oil (NO) (20 ml/l) and NSKE 5% (50 ml/l). The least effective treatment was eucalyptus leaf extract (10.09 larvae/m2) after control followed by chilli solution (9.05 larvae/m2) and onion extract (8.98 larvae/m2). The lowest yield and yield increased over control (%) was recorded in treatment eucalyptus leaf extract (10.24 q/ha and 6.67%). (11.8 q/ha) followed by chilli solution (10.52 q/ha and 9.58%) extract (10.65 q/ ha and 11.30%) and which were at par with each other.
