Modeling and Analysis of Electrical Transmission Mechanism in Electroacupuncture Therapy

Objective: The patent analyzes the diffusion of electrical stimulation signals applied to internal tissues of myasthenia gravis patients by electroacupuncture, to improve the therapeutic effect of stimulation signals on patients. Methods: Taking myasthenia gravis patients as the research object, a digital human shadow image dataset was selected, and a finite element model of the electromagnetic simulation of the human right arm was constructed through tissue segmentation, 3D reconstruction, and pseudo counting, to study the propagation mechanism of electric current signals applied to human arm tissue by electroacupuncture. In the stimulation signal setting, carrier frequency of the signal injected into positive and negative poles through electroacupuncture was 1, 2, and 5 kHz, and the injected current signal amplitude was +20 and -5 mA. Results: In model simulation results, the coupling voltage generated in human tissue near the positive stimulation electrode reached 10 V, which is safe for human tissue (<36 V). The generated effective physical therapy area was within a circular radius of 1 cm near the positive electrode. Through an analysis of the coupling potential and current distribution, the carrier frequency of the injected signal was found to increase; the tissue capacitance effect became increasingly significant, and the coupling potential decreased. However, the coupling current, a key factor in physical therapy, was almost unaffected by frequency. Conclusions: An increase in stimulation frequency reduces coupling potential without influencing the therapeutic effect. Therefore, in later treatment, by changing the signal carrier frequency, the harm caused by coupling potential inside the human body can be reduced.
