Analysis Of Factors Affecting Corn Production And Income (Case Study: Watu Lanur Village, Poco Ranaka District, East Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara)

This study aims to identify and analyze the factors that influence both the production and income of corn farmers in Watu Lanur Village, Poco Ranaka District, East Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. The research employed a quantitative approach with purposive sampling technique involving 33 corn farmers.Data collected includes primary data through structured interviews and questionnaires, as well as secondary data from related institutions.Analytical methods used were the Cobb-Douglas production function to determine the effect of land area, fertilizer, pesticide, and labor on production, and multiple linear regression to analyze the influence of input costs on farmer income. The results indicated that land area, fertilizer, and labor significantly affected corn production, while pesticide was not significant.Meanwhile, seed and labor costs had significant impacts on income, while fertilizer and pesticide costs did not.The coefficient of determination (R) was 89.5% for production and 94.9% for income models, suggesting that most variation in production and income can be explained by the included variables. These findings highlight the importance of optimizing productive inputs and labor efficiency to support sustainable agricultural income in rural areas.
