La formación de maestros en Norte de Santander: Realidades y retos

The purpose of this article is to present the results of the research on teacher training in Norte de Santander, Colombia, which was aimed at analyzing the needs and stakes of teacher training in the region from a global and emerging perspective for quality education. The above based on a mixed approach and from a descriptive method. Among the most significant findings is the need and call from international entities to review teacher training at a global level, since this is the epicenter of quality education. In relation to this, the last government plans have been in function of responding to educational quality from a coverage perspective, test results and betting on initial and continuous teacher training. The above is consistent with what teachers expressed in the survey in relation to training needs, since they consider necessary training in competency-based assessment, flexible curricula, technological mediations and social pedagogy. Finally, the recommendations are presented, but rather than presenting a finalized research, it provides important elements to continue delving into the teacher training processes in order to contribute to a pertinent teacher training that has an impact on quality education.
