ASSESSMENT OF THE IMPACT OF MINERAL FERTILIZER USE ON WATER POLLUTION IN THE AGRICULTURAL REGION
This study assessed the impact of mineral fertilizers on water resources in the agricultural regions of the Kyrgyz Republic, focusing on the Issyk-Kul region. The methodology employed geographic information systems and regression analysis to monitor the water quality in agricultural areas. Analysis of the water samples revealed significant exceedances of permissible nitrate and phosphate concentrations and established a strong correlation between fertilizer application intensity and pollution levels. The implementation of agrochemical management technologies, farmer education programs, water body monitoring, and sustainable agricultural practices is highly recommended to minimize environmental risks and preserve the unique ecosystems and biodiversity of the region.
