Cognitive Approaches in Radar Networks
In this paper a simulator for distributed radar networks is presented, where a variable number of radar nodes can be deployed in arbitrary topologies to address the problem of multi-target tracking. Specifically, cognitive radar techniques are implemented in this paper, where each individual radar node can periodically adapt its operational parameters based on a desired strategy (e.g., power usage minimization, classification mission). Preliminary results in terms of target range & velocity variance with a centralized network controller are shown here for different cognitive strategies, paving the way to assess in the final version of the paper decentralized controllers and more diversified strategies for different nodes in the network.
