SWOT Cal/Val Campaign based on the SWALIS airborne sensor. Comparaison of σ 0 over the Rhine
This paper introduces a quick comparison of backscattering coefficients, denoted as σ<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">0</inf>, between data gathered by the SWALIS (Still Water Low Incidence Scattering) airborne sensor and those from the SWOT (Surface Water and Ocean Topography) satellite mission. These comparisons were conducted over two distinct locations over the Rhine : Plobsheim and Gerstheim. SWALIS reveals fluctuations in these coefficients both in the open expanses and in areas adjacent to the banks over Plobsheim areas.
