Análise sazonal do perfil químico das folhas de Lecythis pisonis (Lecythidaceae)

In this study, leaves of the species Lecythis pisonis Cambess. (Lecythidaceae), also known as sapucaia in Portuguese, were used. With this work, we aimed to evaluate the interference of seasonality in the chemical profile of this species. To this end, a collection was carried out at four different times of the year (spring, summer, autumn, and winter). With the MeOH and MeOH/H2O extracts, tests were carried out to quantify the flavonoid and phenolic content in general. With the extracts in hexane, analyses of the majority components were carried out using GC-MS, which demonstrated differences in their profile depending on the season. In this procedure, chemical constituents were also identified that are being reported in the family and species for the first time. These results suggest that seasonality influences the chemical composition of this species.
