Enantioselective Analysis of Organic Molecules with Chiral Nanomaterials

This study introduces an advanced methodology for enantioselective analysis utilizing surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) in conjunction with chiral nanomaterials. Chiral nanomaterials were synthesized through thermal sulfurization of TiS2, followed by liquid nitrogen-assisted exfoliation and modification by aminoacid(s). Comprehensive characterization, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy, and UV-Vis spectroscopy, confirmed the structural and functional properties of the developed materials. The functionalized materials were shown to exhibit selective affinity towards organic enantiomers, which were analyzed on plasmon-active SERS substrates. The synergistic integration of chiral nanomaterials with SERS measurements enhanced enantioselectivity and analytical sensitivity. This work demonstrates a robust and versatile approach for chiral molecular discrimination with significant implications for pharmaceutical analysis, advanced sensing platforms, and enantiomeric separation technologies.
