The versatile use of single-shot and continuous stellate ganglion blockade in the treatment of electrical storm: A case report
Electrical storm (ES) is commonly defined as the occurrence of three or more episodes of ventricular arrhythmia (VA), within 24 hours. 1–4 Treatment of ES can be challenging. 4,5 Conventional anti-arrhythmic therapies include management of potential triggering factors, anti-arrhythmic medications, therapy from the implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) (either antitachycardia pacing (ATP) or shock), direct current cardioversion (DCC) and catheter ablation. 1,2,4 Neuraxial modulation, such as percutaneous stellate ganglion blockade (SGB), can provide temporary rhythm stabilization in patients with therapy-resistant ES.
