The Impact of Digital Economy on Employment Structure: A Perspective on Government Spending
The progression of the digital economy not only promotes the refinement of labor employment frameworks but also creates higher-quality job opportunities, elevates workers skill proficiency, and accelerates industrial transformation and high-caliber economic development. This research investigates the interplay between the digital economy and employment structure using provincial panel data from China (2013-2022) and a panel threshold model. The results demonstrate that digital economic growth positively contributes to employment structure optimization. When government spending surpasses a specific threshold, the digital economys impact on employment structure displays a nonlinear pattern with escalating marginal returns. Furthermore, the influence of digital economic development on employment structure varies regionally. Consequently, it is crucial to build a robust digital infrastructure system, implement precise policies driven by government expenditure efficiency, and cultivate cross-regional collaboration mechanisms for digital resource allocation.
