Optimized Demand-Responsive Bus Route Planning Algorithm for Enhanced Public Transport Efficiency and Reliability

In this paper, a demand-response bus model is constructed for the purpose of obtaining the shortest bus operation route. The minimum sum of the variable cost and the fixed cost of the bus is used as the objective function of the model, and the boundary conditions such as the maximum passenger capacity of the vehicle are established. Based on the model, a demand-responsive bus route planning algorithm was designed, and two simulation experiments of the same scale were completed using MATLAB, simulating two scenarios of daily operation and holiday operation respectively. The two experimental results verified the reliability of the designed model in this paper which proves that the demand-responsive bus route planning algorithm designed in this paper can plan shorter operating routes and has a faster solution speed.
