Research on Long-term Stability of Platinum Resistance Temperature Sensors
Platinum resistance temperature sensors has been widely employed in aerospace, aviation and ship fields, which monitors the equipment in real time. Usually, sensors in large equipment were difficult to remove or replace, its stability has become one of the main problems that shortens the service time of heavy equipment. In this work, failure cause of platinum resistance temperature sensor was analyzed and a long-term platinum resistance temperature sensor was designed through material matching and long-term circuit optimization. Then, a series of stability tests were carried out to probe sensor precision, range and drifting. Testing results showed that during at least 11 years, measuring precision and range of platinum resistance temperature sensor still meets the design requirement and among them, the temperature converter index was controlled within 0.044% FS. It validates the feasibility of long-term platinum resistance temperature sensor design and offers an effective measurement method to ultra-long service device.
