Package Integrated Series-feed Antenna Arrays for mmWave Medical Radar Sensors
In this paper, we present the modelling, fabrication, and measurement of package-integrated series-fed antenna arrays for mmWave medical radar sensors. We apply the Dolph-Chebyshev method to reduce the side lobe level below -20 dB. We also investigated the impact of process variations of packaging technology on the impedance and radiation characteristics of the antenna. The investigations reveal that fluctuations in the dielectric constant and the patch-to-patch length dimensions are among the most critical parameters that can severely degrade the antenna performance.
