Decoding Social Media Sentiments with BERT-SA: A Deep Learning Perspective

The interpretation of textual information including opinions and emotions on Twitter strongly depends on sentiment analysis capabilities. This study employs a transformer-based model, BERT-SA (Bidi- rectional Encoder Representations from Transformers with Self-Attention for Sentiment Analysis), to classify tweets into four sentiment categories: irrelevant, neutral, positive, and negative. The process begins with preparing the text data and splitting it into tokens. The BERT tokenizer is then used to process the text before fine- tuning the transformer model for sentiment classification. The model is trained and evaluated on specialized Twitter datasets, demonstrating its ability to interpret text patterns within the unique context of social media. The BERT model's performance is assessed through precise metrics and category-based measurements. The outcomes of the research demonstrate that the BERT model is well-suited for sentiment analysis tasks, laying the foundational groundwork for real-world applications such as social media sentiment tracking and opinion mining, while utilizing advanced NLP techniques.
