AI-Augmented Bioprinting: Revolutionizing Organ Transplantation and Regenerative Medicine

The landscape of organ transplantation and regenerative medicine is changing with the augmentation of bioprinting by artificial intelligence. The target of this review will be to consider the synergy between AI and bioprinting-from how AI enhances the accuracy, efficiency, and functionality of 3D-printed organs and tissues to its capabilities in improving implant design. In this endeavour to design optimal bioprinting processes along with scaffold design, and most importantly, quality control, AI technologies, which would include machine learning algorithms and predictive modelling, would be important. Promising solutions for the global shortage of organs will come through these developments and make it less dependent on donors, thereby improving results for regenerative therapies. Ethical and regulatory challenges accompany technology-related challenges. Despite these challenges, full of hope is the future of AI-driven bioprinting with numerous research focuses going on to overcome these challenges and further strengthen AI with other emerging technologies. The purpose of this review is to emphasize the need for interdisciplinarity to fully unleash the transformative power of AI in the context of regenerative medicine and organ transplantation.
