Research on Safety Warning Technology for Pumped Storage Units
Most pumped storage units have installed a considerable number of online monitoring systems. Sensors installed in various parts of the unit convert physical signals into electrical signals, which are transmitted to various status monitoring subsystems. The data collected and processed by each subsystem is uniformly stored in the status data server, achieving the functions of data collection, storage, and preliminary data statistical analysis of the unit's operating status. The unit status monitoring system measures the stability of the unit's status by setting alarm thresholds at monitoring locations, but it cannot provide early warning of abnormal faults or provide maintenance guidance for unit faults. Most of the deterioration and defects of pumped storage units have a certain development period, and their electrical, hydraulic, chemical, mechanical and other characteristics undergo slight and gradual changes, showing early signs of deterioration. If continuous or random monitoring is carried out on pumped storage units, timely acquisition of these early warning information, and comprehensive analysis and processing are carried out, the operational reliability of the equipment can be evaluated at any time, and planned shutdown inspection and maintenance can be arranged based on its health status.
