Review of IoT-Enabled Crop Recommendation Model and Soil Nutrient Analysis for Precision Agriculture
Smart Agriculture, facilitated by the IoT, leads to precision farming, a practice known as precision agriculture. By precisely measuring soil properties including moisture, temperature, humidity, pH, and fertility and nutrition content, the combination of IoT technology with soil monitoring improves agricultural productivity. The collected information is kept on the cloud, allowing for effective data operations that enable the optimization of farming strategies and the creation of trend analyses. This, in turn, enables the precise utilization of resources and the implementation of farming methods in a strategic manner to maximize crop production. A micro controller with WiFi connection and cloud based storage would be at the heart of the proposed Internet of Things system, which also includes pH, humidity, temperature, soil moisture, and soil nutrient (NPK) probes. After installation, these sensors take readings of targeted parameters and send them to a server in the cloud along with a timestamp. Together, these sensors supply analysts a wealth of data. To assist in crop selection based on soil data and enhance growth through optimized farming processes, a recommending system using the Decision Tree algorithm is proposed.
