Design and Optimization of Battery Thermal Management System Based on Triply Periodic Minimal Surfaces

With the rapid development of new energy vehicles, battery thermal management has become a crucial technology for enhancing battery performance and safety. This paper focuses on the temperature uniformity of battery packs and designs a battery thermal management system based on Triply Periodic Minimal Surfaces (TPMS). The performance of this system is validated through simulations. The TPMS-filled liquid-cooled heat dissipation structure and phase change heat dissipation structure improve heat dissipation efficiency and temperature uniformity. A battery charging strategy employing genetic algorithms is adopted to balance charging time and temperature difference within the battery pack. The results indicate that the TPMS structure enhances heat dissipation and temperature uniformity performance, and the optimized charging strategy reduces the temperature difference within the battery pack in a shorter time. This study provides a new approach for the design of battery thermal management systems in new energy vehicles.
