Paper Analysis of Voltage Profiles and Correlations across substations in New Delhi
Steady voltage profile of substations are important for continued and reliable operation of an electrical grid. This study presents voltage profiling and the relationships between different substations of New Delhi, India [1]. The real-time data has been taken from the Delhi state load dispatch centre website for 29th may 2024. This paper analyses the variation in voltage levels between 15 substations of New Delhi. The paper also analyses the cross-correlation between these substations using Pearson correlation coefficient. From the analysis, it was discovered that substations such as Maharanibagh-400, Mandaula-400, and Bamnauli-400 have positive correlation, representing a synchronous behaviour in voltage fluctuation. Similarly, substations like Mandaula-220 and Narela-Mandaula also showed a correlation with a high-valued variable, whereas Mundka-400 showed a negative correlation, indicating independent operational conditions. These results strengthen the further finding that substations with high correlation shall require coordinated management, and the ones with high variability shall require specific targeted interventions.Substations like Mandaula-220 and Narela-Mandaula exhibits significant voltage fluctuations that should be addressed for enhanced voltage stability of the grid. A complete diagnosis of the operation of Mundka-400 is also necessary for bringing under voltage stability control.
