Experimental Study on Extinguishing Full-Scale Fire of UHV Converter Transformer by Compressed Air Foam Monitor System
In order to solve the technical problem that UHV converter transformer fire is difficult to put out, a test method of compressed air foam monitor system for extinguishing converter transformer solid fire is proposed. The 1:1 full-scale UHV converter transformer solid fire model was used to study the effectiveness of compressed air foam monitor system for extinguishing fires by setting adverse extinguishing conditions such as oil spill fire and oil pool fire. The test results show that under the flow rate of 80L/s foam solution, the extinguishing time of compressed air foam monitor system is 95s, and the high temperature transformer oil temperature can be reduced to below 100°C after continuous injection of 310s; During the fire extinguishing process, by adjusting the jet angle of the compressed air foam monitor, the tank wall temperature can be rapidly cooled down, the oil spill vaporization can be prevented, and the oil spill fire can be effectively extinguished.
