Techno-Economic Analysis for Designing Renewable Energy Systems in El-Fasher City, Sudan
This paper investigates the techno-economic analysis process for designing renewable energy systems for El-Fasher City, Sudan. First, a solar photovoltaic system for residential use in El-Fasher City is designed using the System Advisor Model (SAM), a robust tool for analyzing renewable energy projects. The study then explores the application of SAM in designing a community-scale wind turbine system at the same site. While the combination of wind power and solar photovoltaics has the potential to enhance the community's sustainability and resilience by creating a more diverse and reliable renewable energy mix, this study analyzes both systems separately. The findings contribute to the development of sustainable energy practices by providing a systematic approach to planning renewable energy systems tailored to specific locations. The results aim to educate policymakers, academics, and practitioners, encouraging the adoption of efficient and effective renewable energy solutions.
