A Novel Approachfor Improved Real World Digital Security
Authentication is the process of verifying a person or a system before granting them permission to a particular resource and it is the fundamental aspect of security. Hence for the advanced authentication graphical password that uses images and patterns instead of traditional alphanumeric passwords is proposed. But still there are several threats that tend to compromise the security such as shoulder-surfing. So the main motive is to combat that by using a Multi-Factor (Three-factor) authentication scheme. First, the user needs to register with a new username and password, followed by combinationbased authentication where arranging the sequence of graphical images of colors in a particular order serves as the second level authentication. Lastly, the user has to select a particular image from the given set of jumbled images which was previously provided by the user while registration. So, this proposed system is resilient to shoulder-surfing and any other possible attacks. In this paper, the proposed model is elaborated and its performance measure is analyzed by comparing it with the existing available authentication methods.
