6G Communication and Global Perspectives: Challenges and Applications
Fifth generation (5G) communications are being implemented in many places around the world, with capabilities that are superior to other existing communications. However, its global coverage is limited. A new paradigm of wireless communication driven entirely by artificial intelligence and covering frequencies up to terahertz (THz) for true microsecond latency and infinite storage is expected. This is termed "6G", and the main technologies involved in 6G are 3D networking, Distributed Radio Access Network (RAN), and Wireless Optical Power Transfer. This paper describes a vision for 6G wireless communications, the scope of 6G networks, and the 6G vision for 6G realization. 6G also takes help from key emerging components and technologies such as antennas, IOT, High-performance computing (HPC), and wireless power transfer. The expected applications are also presented, along with the requirements. Authors are also looking at 7G to replace 5G and 6G, which offer much higher capacity and can use higher frequencies with much lower latency for communications, so the overall potential is higher.
