An FCS-Model Predictive Control-Based Dual T-type Inverter in Grid-Connected Mode
This article demonstrates a fixed DC source-based dual T-type inverter (DTI) connected to a 3-phase grid. The DTI is comprised of two 3-level T-type inverters that are connected in a parallel fashion. A type of Model Predictive Control (MPC), namely Finite Control Set (FCS) MPC, has been implemented for this proposed structure. This controller has better reference tracking and DC-link capacitor voltage balancing capability, resulting in less total harmonic distortion (THD) in grid current. A cost function associated with FCS-MPC will give an optimized switching state over a certain horizon of time by comparing the reference value and the predicted value of the variables. The system's mathematical modeling and MATLAB simulation have been implemented and verified.
